Usage of LPG in Iraq
The Iraqi Gas cylinder as shown below is still the only source implement to achieve the daily use in household and even in almost all industrial use such as hotels and restaurants. The technical specifications of the cylinder:

The origins of a big percentage of the Iraqi cylinders are in China.
Our former company (EURO EAST TECHNOLOGY) was one of the importers of the above cylinders till 2006; you can see the logo of our company EURO EAST at the cylinder handy.
The central Iraqi government has stopped with importing the above cylinders from China. The main reason for that is:
1- Those cylinders are not manufactured according to the International standards (ISO 4706 / BS5045)
2- The cylinder has not been tested by any international third party such as TUV or another instance.
Source of LPG in Iraq
The main source of Iraqi LPG is the oil-refineries, the other source is by winning of Natural Gas.
A Strategic Alliance Protocol was signed in April 2007, as part of a strategy to advance regional economic benefits through successful development of substantial gas resources. As part of the agreement, Dana Gas has been commissioned to develop process and transport natural gas from the Khor Mor Gas Field, and also to concurrently appraise the potential of the Chemchemal Gas Field, both major gas fields in Iraq.
